QA Engineer (Services)

Job Summary

Quality Assurance (QA) engineer will design, develop, and qualify automated tests and manual test procedures to ensure system and product quality. Responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging issues, and qualifying corrective actions. In addition, the QA Engineer will review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.). Ultimately monitoring all stages of system and product development to identify and resolve issues to meet quality standards.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for developing, conducting, and automating tests as part of system life cycle and product launches to ensure all implementations run smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective
  • Review of system architecture and existing acceptance testing to derive manual and automated testing.
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback and create or edit acceptance criteria for system and product development
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases that are both automated and manual
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute test automation
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing systems and products to meet client needs
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements and architectural concerns
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years test case authoring experience
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  • System acceptance testing experience
  • Selenium experience a strong plus
  • C# or related language experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Highly self-motivated applicants preferred
  • Bachelor of Science or related degree
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience in manufacturing quality is a plus
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • Experience with qualification of system and system software is a plus
