Savigent Software Releases Savigent Streamline™

Savigent’s software suite now includes real-time fault detection capabilities

BLOOMINGTON, MINN. (November 9, 2015) – Savigent Software, Inc., the Bloomington-based company specializing in event-driven manufacturing operations management software, announced today the release of Savigent Streamline™. This latest addition to Savigent Software’s suite of products is a rules-based, complex-event application used to implement fault detection. The software allows organizations to more rapidly discover and act upon anomalies and prevent future faults.

Using Streamline, opportunities or threats can be quickly identified and responded to by acting immediately to shut down a machine or make adjustments to the process. Streamline eliminates challenges caused by communications delays and/or out of-order data, by using time-encoded streams of sensor data, contexts and events, and then time stamps each stream separately. This ensures that while data is collected in real-time, analysis and calculations remain highly accurate and predictive.

“Savigent Software developed Streamline to address challenges presented in detecting faults or anomalies, which is usually a manual effort and complicated by multiple data origins,” said Jimmy Asher, director of product strategy for Savigent Software. “Streamline’s multi-variable analysis gives manufacturers the capability to infer data that is not directly collected. This allows faults or anomalies to be identified automatically. This flexibility increases uptime, decreases waste, and allows engineers and developers to focus on performing at their highest value.”

The software solution allows users to accelerate and automate the fault-detection process by combining data from multiple sources to identify events or patterns that suggest more complicated circumstances. Users can configure rule sets to quickly modify algorithms across the entire platform based upon specific incoming data. Without this kind of technology, engineers often end up using multiple applications that replicate data, running iterative reports and wasting crucial technical and human resources. Instead, Streamline intelligently aggregates and analyzes multiple data and event streams, eliminating reprocessing of data.

When implemented alongside Savigent Platform™, Savigent Workflow™ and Savigent Historian™, Savigent Streamline™ enables manufacturers to produce products more efficiently, effectively and economically.

Savigent Software Named Finalist for 16th Annual Tekne Awards

BLOOMINGTON, MINN.,  – The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named Savigent Software and Seagate Technology as joint finalists in the Advanced Manufacturing category for the 2015 Tekne Awards. The Tekne Awards honor Minnesota companies and individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.

Seagate Technology and Savigent Software have been recognized for their collaborative effort in developing an advanced manufacturing innovation that improves the way that production equipment, work instructions and manufacturing processes are controlled. Seagate’s Recording Head Operations partnered with Savigent Software to develop and implement a state-of-the-art factory control system that increases tool efficiency, reduces errors and improves process control. The result is a dramatic improvement in efficiency, which directly impacts Seagate’s ability to get its product to market quickly.

“We’re proud to provide innovative companies like Seagate Technology with powerful software to create a better manufacturing process that leads to better business outcomes,” said David Wicker, President and CEO, Savigent Software. “Implementing our Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) software has allowed Seagate to make improvements in the execution of its advanced manufacturing processes and not only capture, store and organize previously inaccessible production tool sensor data, but to contextualize, normalize and analyze that data in real-time, and then revise and deploy workflows to optimize the manufacturing process.”

“Identifying equipment issues in real-time is a significant improvement, but creating a workflow system that is capable of connecting with virtually all manufacturing control applications is what makes this a transformational innovation for us,” said Win Giles, Plant Manager, Recording Head Operations at Seagate’s Bloomington, Minn. facility. “Savigent has given us the ability to more effectively drive factory operations, resulting in faster production cycles, decreased material waste and decreased energy use.”
