Mark Besser is Smart Manufacturing Panelist at the ASME 2017 Conference

Panel explores research and development opportunities and immediate challenges in Smart Manufacturing technologies. 

Mark Besser, Vice President of Customer Success for Savigent, participated as a panelist at the ASME 2017 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference on Tuesday, August 8. The conference highlighted rising technologies that influence important engineering issues of product design and development, manufacturing, and the management and integration of information systems throughout the product life-cycle.

Besser spoke on the Smart Manufacturing panel, specifically providing insight on the provider prospective related to the common technology platform being built by Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition (SMLC) and Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII).

“Today’s panel provided an excellent opportunity for the industry to explore research and development as well as the immediate challenges in Smart Manufacturing technologies,” said Besser. “At Savigent, we see our software solutions as a bridge between IT and OT that enables manufacturers to realize the benefits of Smart Manufacturing and the IIoT.”

He is also an active member of MESA, serving as the Chair of the Membership Committee, and as a member of the Executive Committee and the International Board of Directors.
