As One to Implement Catalyst™ with The HallStar Company

MINNETONKA, Minn. – August 31, 2010 – As One Technologies, Inc., announced today that specialty chemical producer The HallStar Company will implement As One’s Catalyst™ suite of software products in its Chicago manufacturing facility starting in September as part of a production efficiency initiative.

As One will implement Catalyst xM™ and Catalyst PDC™, providing HallStar with the ability to fully automate batch execution and electronic batch record management as well as the ability to collect key manufacturing intelligence related to plant asset management. Catalyst xM™ will execute batch production recipes, manage unit operations and automate standard operating procedures that make up the batch manufacturing process. Catalyst PDC™ is being incorporated to capture key process indicators and production tracking information.

Jay Mellen, As One’s executive vice president for business development, said, “We are thrilled to be working with the team at HallStar. This is a great opportunity to provide significant value to a key customer and demonstrate the flexibility and benefits of the Catalyst™ software suite in batch manufacturing.”

Mellen continued, “One key Catalyst xM™ feature of particular interest is the ability to generate and store detailed workflow execution data. The system, in effect, self-generates all of the relevant operational and execution information required to construct highly detailed electronic batch records.” The HallStar Company provides chemical solutions for customers in more than 50 countries across six continents. The company is at the forefront of ester chemistry and is a leader in the polymer additive and personal care ingredient sectors. Their ability to deliver solutions to their customers’ challenges – such as providing environmentally sustainable products – complements their impressive manufacturing and distribution capabilities.

Chuck Redpath, director of IT at HallStar, said, “We’re tremendously excited about what As One and the Catalyst™ product will bring to HallStar. Catalyst™ will significantly improve upon many of our existing operations and procedures, and most importantly will help us drastically improve our efficiency and intelligence collection.”

David Wicker, As One CEO, said, “We’re excited to have the opportunity to bring the Catalyst™ software suite to a world-class chemical manufacturer like HallStar. We’re confident Catalyst™ – and our outstanding team standing behind it – will make it possible for HallStar to realize significant manufacturing efficiencies through workflow automation, manufacturing intelligence and systems integration solutions. At the end of the day, we’re here to help HallStar and our other customers produce products more efficiently, effectively and economically.”
